Laptops are great for portability, but sometimes you need a larger screen to boost productivity or for better working environment. Whether you’re replacing your desktop setup or just need more space for work or gaming, an external monitor setup can be a game-changer.
Transforming your laptop or MacBook into a desktop is easy. If you prefer to keep the laptop closed and use only the monitor, follow these simple steps.
To adjust your settings, search for Control Panel in Windows. Go to Hardware and Sound > Power Options, then click on “Choose what closing the lid does” in the left-hand menu. Alternatively, you can search for this option directly. In the “When I close the lid” section, you’ll see dropdown menus for both “On battery” and “Plugged in.” Set both to “Do nothing” and click “Save changes” to apply your new preferences.
